Fundraising - the story so far...
March 2009
We had a wonderful evening when more than 40 people came along to enjoy good company, good food and music.
An auction of promises went down well – auctioneer Karren sold off promises including Mr and Mrs Slave for a day, music, language and cookery lessons, trips out, haircuts and much more.

Our brave Elaine finished the evening off with her money-making ultra-short hairdo - Chowang did the honours and in the end Elaine's hair was shorter than hers!
April 2009
Kate Wilson ran the London Marathon – here she is with her medal. She completed the feat in less than four hours! Well done Kate, and thanks for raising more than £800.
August 2009
A sponsored walk for 10 miles along the side of the Leeds-Liverpool canal, from Leeds to Saltaire, ending with cake and juice and a browse around Salt's Mill.

November 2009
Jay Prosser took on a triathlon to raise money for the centre. He cycled 12 miles, swam 500 metres and ran five miles. Jay has been a student at Ratnasambhava Kadampa Buddhist Centre for a long time, but we never knew he was so athletic! Thank you Jay!
February 2010
With a lot of hard work, generosity and dedication, we moved into the new centre. It was declared officially open during a special chanted prayers
session with Kadam Bridget Heyes, the NKT's National Spiritual Director for the UK.
The work hasn't stopped there though - there are still projects to finance. See our fundraising and development homepage for full details.
