About the Festivals

Every year, NKT holds three international Festivals: Spring, Summer and Fall.

Spring and Summer Festival are held at Manjushri KMC in the Lake District, and Fall Festival is held at a non-UK Kadampa Buddhist Temple, for example Malaga, Sao Paolo or New York.

These Festivals are taught by senior NKT teachers including the General Spriritual Director and Deputy Spiritual Director.

These Festivals provide a precious opportunity to study and practice the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Founder of the NKT-IKBU. The Festivals consist of teachings, empowerments and meditations, with short retreats to finish. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of experience.

Besides the teaching and meditation programme, the Festivals also provide a precious opportunity to meet and practice with like-minded people from all over the world. You will come away not only refreshed and relaxed but also spiritually re-energised.

Spring Festival is a five-day event held at the end of May, and Summer Festival is a two-week event at the end of July / start of August. Fall Festival is a six-day event. The Festivals are truly international, with people attending from all corners of the world and real-time translation of the teachings into numerous languages.

You can also get involved by volunteering before, during or after the Festival.
