Evening Classes

  • Remembering the kindness of our Founder June 4th is the day that Buddha first turned the wheel of Dharma in this world. On this special day we celebrate the activities and kindness of our root Guru and founder of the New Kadampa Tradition, Vemerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. On this day we emphasize faith, rejoicing and gratitude, natural sources of pure happiness. Using the special prayer 'Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples' and reciting our Guru's name mantra, we will offer our practice to him - especially our faith. There are three sessions using the sadhana 'The Hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land According to Highest Yoga Tantra' and the special request prayer. The retreat will conclude with 'Offering to the Spiritual Guide', special prayers dedicated to the flourishing of Venerable Geshe-la's work in this world. Everyone is welcome! Session times: 9 - 10.30 am | 11 - 12.20pm | 2 - 3.30pm Offering to the Spiritual Guide: 4.30 - 6pm There is no charge for this event and everyone is welcome!

  • with Special Guest Teacher: Kadam Morten

Wednesday 22nd May | 7.30-9pm | £12 or free for Benefactor Members We all share the same wish, to be happy all the time. We were born with it, and our search for it drives us through life. We all find moments of pleasure and excitement, but sometimes this pleasure becomes craving for both people and things. We can become so desperate to satisfy our constant desires, that instead of happiness we experience frustration, anxiety and addiction. The truth is happiness is not something we can acquire from the outside, but a vast ocean that’s waiting to be discovered within us. Based in New York City, internationally renowned Buddhist teacher and meditator Kadam Morten Clausen is coming to Leeds for one night only to give a special public talk answering the big question – how do I find lasting happiness? He will also guide us in meditation so each of us will experience this inner ocean ourself. An unmissable event for the people of Leeds. Everyone is welcome!
  • NOTE NEW CLASS TIME: 7 – 8.15pm With Gen Kelsang Dornying | Every Wednesday evening (check calendar) | 7 - 8.15pm A spiritual path is an inner path, or spiritual realization, that leads us to the pure happiness of liberation and enlightenment. In these classes, we will discover how to train in such paths! Gen Dornying will be teaching from the extraordinary book written by Venerable Geshe-la called The Mirror of Dharma. This course is designed to address everyday difficulties with easy to understand and practice solutions from Buddha's teachings and meditations. In this way, we will develop and deepen a more sustainable experience of peace and happiness coming within.   Everyone is welcome | Free for Members | Classes are £8   PLEASE NOTE: These classes are now in-person only
