Wednesday 22nd May | 7.30-9pm | £12 or free for Benefactor Members We all share the same wish, to be happy all the time. We were born with it, and our search for it drives us through life. We all find moments of pleasure and excitement, but sometimes this pleasure becomes craving for both people and things. We can become so desperate to satisfy our constant desires, that instead of happiness we experience frustration, anxiety and addiction. The truth is happiness is not something we can acquire from the outside, but a vast ocean that’s waiting to be discovered within us. Based in New York City, internationally renowned Buddhist teacher and meditator Kadam Morten Clausen is coming to Leeds for one night only to give a special public talk answering the big question – how do I find lasting happiness? He will also guide us in meditation so each of us will experience this inner ocean ourself. An unmissable event for the people of Leeds. Everyone is welcome! PLEASE NOTE: This class is in-person only

  • Spiritual Protection for our Time | Sat 1 June The teachings of Buddha are called Dharma. Dharma is like a great ship that carries us across the fearful ocean of samsara - life pervaded by suffering and uncontrolled thinking. With a skillful navigator and crew, this voyage takes us beyond the ordinary, to deep levels of insight, freedom and happiness. In the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) our navigator is Guru Tsongkhapa, ably assisted by the powerful protector Dorje Shugden, known as the protector for our time. On this daycourse, based on the teachings of the NKT 2024 Spring Festival, Gen Kelsang Dornying will introduce us to these powerful beings and explain how to rely upon them in conjunction with the practice of ‘Heart Jewel’. Learn to never be apart from a powerful friend, guide and protector. Everyone is welcome!
